Adult Waiver Program (DMV-Recognized)

The Adult Waiver Program is a Virginia DMV-recognized program that allows eligible adults to:

Waive the DMV road test, and
-
Skip the 60-day waiting period after receiving a learner’s permit
This option is typically chosen by adults who need a driver’s license right away and cannot wait the required 60 days.
How the Adult Waiver Program Works

7-day course
-
Each session includes:
-
50 minutes of driving, and
-
50 minutes of observing the other adult student
-
-
Must be completed with another adult student
-
Observation is required by the DMV
-
Upon successful completion, the DMV road test is waived
Important Requirement
To qualify, students must have completed a Virginia state-approved Driver Education course and provide a Certificate of Completion.
If this requirement has not been met, Driver Education must be completed first.
Important Considerations
While we do offer the Adult Waiver Program, we believe it’s important to be transparent:

Scheduling can be challenging, as adults often have different work or school schedules

Sessions require pairing with another adult student

Less flexibility compared to private lessons

Not ideal for students with anxiety, learning differences, or those who need individualized pacing
Because of these factors, this program is not the best fit for every adult.

As part of this package, we include a DMV-style road test simulation during the final lesson. This helps students feel confident, prepared, and familiar with what to expect on test day.
